No matter normal lathe machine or CNC lathe machine, there is movement error on pallet, which we called as "0 movement". On normal lathe machine, it shows as when you turn the handle wheel at the first circle, the pallet would not move,so that you cannot know the accuracy movement distance of pallet by read the handle wheel scale number. There need be a distance between gear and lead screw to move smooth,the bigger the distance is, the error is bigger and pallet move much smooth. The smaller the distance is, the error is smaller and pallet move hardly. So that an accuracy DRO set can help us know the accurate movement distance, if you want make an accuracy working piece and thread, a machine with DRO set is the best choice.
